Steve’s titles and topics include:
New Seminar for the Year of St.
Paul (June 2008 – June 2009)!
Justification By Faith Alone?
Are you interested in a presentation for (mature) teens, college students, and adults that goes to the heart of the issue which caused the Protestant rupture from the Church? The doctrine of justification remains the key question dividing Protestants and Catholics.
Steve’s goal in this seminar is: (1) to present clearly, simply, and accurately both the Protestant and the Catholic understanding of justification and (2) to show the Catholic understanding of justification directly from St. Paul’s Epistle to the Romans.
His aim in this seminar is to distill and simplify the rich content of St. Paul’s teaching on justification in Romans so that a fourteen-year-old can understand the apostle’s message and share it with others.
If there is one book of the Bible to know well in order to share the Catholic faith with Protestant friends, it’s the Epistle of Romans – no doubt about it.
Evangelical Protestants think that the Catholic understanding of Romans will hinder having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Your Protestant friends attending the seminar will be astonished to learn that Catholicism’s understanding of Romans unlocks immeasurable riches for developing a relationship with Christ.
A final word about your Protestant friends – invite them! Catholics are urged to invite their Protestant friends to attend this seminar. They will be treated with respect and taught straight from their Bibles.
Priority in scheduling for this seminar will be given to parishes and groups developing an effective plan to personally invite friends, family members, college students, and co-workers, from the surrounding community. Please send a brief description of your proposed plans for inviting others to this seminar.
Note to Catholic college groups: If your college group is willing to engage in a vigorous campus-wide outreach to invite (Catholic, Protestant, & non-believing) students to the seminar, a sponsorship for some, or for all, the necessary fees may be available.

Don't try to do too much at a single event. All of these
topics may seem desirable. Yet you'll maximize the effectiveness
of your conference by focusing on one or two related topics
that will benefit your attendees the most.
Special Note Regarding Content of Talks
When I offer to speak in a topic area, examples might be
fathering or parenting, I offer suggested titles and a sample
list of topics. Yet, at each conference a talk comes out
unique. Some of the listed talking points will be included
in the talk, some will not, and some not listed will be
mentioned.
I do not offer to give talks outlined by a committee, guarantee
to cover points felt most necessary by organizers, or promise
not to speak on certain topics. Other speakers may do this,
but I do not, for several reasons.
I am open to general suggestions like, “We have a pornography
problem with many attending. Can you cover something on
this?” If there are adequate priests available for Confession
and there is a reasonable plan for follow-up is in place,
I’d be glad to consider it. Yet, I do not offer a conference
the option to micro-manage the content of my talks.
Since I have published widely and have hours of CD recordings,
the type of content in my talks is no secret. Therefore,
a conference has the freedom to choose me as a speaker,
or not, depending upon what they can easily discover in
my writings and recordings.
For example, if you want me to give the parenting talk,
“Raising Godly Children in an Ungodly World,” then I ask
that you allow me to choose the content. It will be: (1)
faithful to the Church’s Magisterium, (2) relevant, (3)
based on what I have published and produced over the past
15 years, (4) perhaps include some newer material that I
have recently developed, and (5) agreed to without any guarantee
regarding specific points.
